How much does a private GP appointment cost?
A 15-minute GP consultation costs £90, with no hidden fees. Additional services such as blood tests or specialist referrals are priced separately. A longer appointment for 30 minutes costs £179.
How Much does a private ANP appointment cost?
A 15-minute ANP consultation costs £60, with no hidden fees. This covers your consultation only. Any additional services such as referrals, blood tests, or medication prescriptions are priced separately.
What is the difference between a GP and an ANP?
Both General Practitioners (GPs) and Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) are highly trained healthcare professionals who can assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of health conditions. The main differences are in their background and scope of practice:
General Practitioner (GP)
A doctor who has completed medical school and specialist training in general practice.
Can diagnose and manage all medical conditions, including complex or rare presentations.
Can prescribe all types of medication, including controlled drugs.
Often leads on managing patients with multiple or complicated health needs.
Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)
A senior nurse who has completed master’s-level training and advanced clinical practice qualifications.
Skilled in assessing, diagnosing, and treating many common conditions (such as infections, minor illnesses, chronic disease management, and prescribing medicines).
Works independently but may refer to a GP or specialist if a condition is complex or outside their scope.
