Med Assistant provides a wide range of immunisations which is an effective way of preventing serious infectious disease. During the vaccination appointment, you will have time to discuss any queries or concerns you may have, and the clinician will explain the pros and cons associated with a given vaccination, including any possible side effects. Some vaccinations require a course of injections, or booster injections to be effective. The clinician will fully explain the necessary treatment course for you.
Just some of the vaccinations we can offer, however if you are looking for an injection that is not listed please get in touch and we will try our best to assist.
Vaccines are a safe and easy way to protect yourself against harmful diseases. They are usually given by injection and they work by helping your immune system to develop natural defences (antibodies) to a disease. So when you encounter the disease you already have the antibodies to protect yourself.
Vaccines are safe for the majority of people to use. All vaccines are put through rigorous clinic trials before they’re approved for use, while scientists continually monitor the safety of vaccines as they’re in use. They are one of the safest medical treatments available.
As with any medication, vaccines can cause side effects in some people. These side effects tend to be mild and short lasting, however. For example, you may experience a passing fever or a sore arm where the vaccine was injected. Severe or lasting side effects are extremely rare with vaccinations.
