How we can help
MedAssistant provides 3 main methods of removing skin tags and warts. Our trained healthcare professionals will assess which one would work best for you.
1. Cryotherapy:
This involves the use of a cold substance, such as liquid nitrogen, to freeze the growth. The cold temperature kills the cells, blocking the blood supply to the area and causing it to naturally fall off. In some cases irritation and temporary skin discoloration may occur, and further treatment may be required.
2. Excision Removal:
Treatment is carried out under a local anaesthetic and is therefore painless. The skin tag is carefully cut away using a scalpel and will be completely removed, leaving only a small white or pink scar in its place.
3. Ligation (for skin tags only):
This involves tying off the skin tag to reduce to blood/oxygen flow, the skin dies off and falls off.
